Welcome

     We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Pocono Township Volunteer Fire Company Website. We are an organization  comprised of dedicated volunteers serving our community. Pocono Township is located in the heart of the Pocono Mountains in Northeastern Pennsylvania. We respond day or night to emergency situations with a call volume of over 650 calls a year. The volunteers are your neighbors and friends. We actively train on the latest firefighting and rescue techniques to provide the best services available. Our mission is to provide the finest fire protection to the residents, businesses and visitors in our community. We encourage you to explore the many services and activities that make up our organization.

     Individuals wishing to become a member of the fire department must be at least 18 years old and be residents of Pocono Township for a minimum of one year. The one year resident restriction may be deferred if transferring from another fire department and have the minimum training requirement. Membership candidates serve a six month probation and must take the Pa. Essentials of Firefighting course. 16 and 17 year olds may join our junior division while learning firefighting techniques and supporting the organization. They also provide assistance to line firefighters. Meetings are held the first and third Wednesdays of each months at 8:00pm. Drills / training is held on the opposite Wednesdays at 7:00pm.      Individuals wishing to join our Auxiliary must be at least 16 years old. The Auxiliary provides support for the fire company through fundraising and other activities. They also provide a canteen service for those long duration calls. The Auxiliary meets at the firehouse on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00pm.
